    摘 要

　　十字军东征在世界中世纪史上是一件影响深远的事件，在这其中，第四次十字军尤为重要。以对抗异教徒为目的地圣战却将目标定在了同是基督信仰的拜占庭帝国，结果造成了君士坦丁堡的陷落和拉丁帝国的建立。

　　朗西曼先生，这位研究拜占庭史的着名学者曾说：没有比第四次十字军东征更大的反人类罪。对于拜占庭帝国而言，第四次东征给它带来的后果是完全的灾难。论文以此为切入点，重点研究第四次东征对拜占庭衰落的影响，探讨第四次东征在拜占庭衰落的过程中扮演了何种角色。

　　本文分三个层次论述，首先介绍第四次东征之前拜占庭的社会情况，包括地方分离主义的滋长，拜占庭与西方的关系以及拜占庭的官僚政治三个方面。其次介绍第四次东征的情况，简略叙述从十字军的布道募兵，到与威尼斯签订协议，转移目标攻打萨拉，同意拜占庭王子的求援来到了君士坦丁堡，并使之陷落的过程。通过对其描述，从侧面反映出拜占庭所受到的影响。最后介绍第四次东征后的拜占庭，即遭到第四次东征的重创，国家原有的弱点和缺陷都被激化后，逐渐衰落下来的拜占庭。重点阐述国家的政治体系的崩溃，经济受到破坏等。

　　Abstract

　　In the medieval times, the crusades are wars with far-reaching influences. Among thesecrusades, especially significant is the fourth crusade. Aiming at fighting the infidels, but thefourth crusade set the Christian Byzantine Empire as its target, yet finally was leaded to thesack of Constantinople and the establishment of Latin Empire.

　　Runciman, the famous researcher of Byzantine history, once said that: no Crimes againstHumanity could be more severe than the fourth crusade. For Byzantine Empire, the outcomeof the fourth crusade was totally a disaster. Select these as point of penetration, this paperfocused on research of the influence of the fourth crusade on the decline of Byzantine Empireand the role it played in the decline of Byzantine Empire.

　　The paper is divided into three parts: The first discusses the social condition ofByzantine before the fourth crusade; including the develop of the separatism, its relation tothe west and bureaucracy of the empire. The second discusses the overall situation of thefourth crusade. It starts with the preparation, and then discusses the treaty of Venice, deviatingto Constantinople, and fall of it. Through the description, the paper tries to reveal theinfluence of the fourth crusade to Constantinople. The third depicts the status of ByzantineEmpire after the fourth crusade, which was sacked by the crusaders. With all its weaknessintensified, the empire declined further and further. Emphasis of this part is put on thecollapse of its political system and the desolation of its economy.
