    摘 要

　　第二次世界大战期间，美国妇女在战争中扮演了重要角色。为弥补因两线作战而导致的人力资源短缺，美国陆军决定充分利用妇女的力量，在陆军妇女辅助队的基础上建立了陆军妇女队。陆军妇女队是美国历史上第一个享有完全军事地位的妇女军团，它的建立是为了使妇女在接受训练后能够在军队中从事非战斗性的工作，从而达到帮助战争的目的。在整个战争期间，超过 15 万人在陆军妇女队中服役，她们进入了一直以来被男性所垄断的工作岗位，证明了妇女同样可以胜任很多传统认为的男性工作。二战时期陆军妇女队的建立具有重要的历史意义，一方面，妇女为赢得战争的胜利做出了巨大的贡献，她们通过进入军队服役使军队得以更加充分有效的利用国家的人力资源，为前线释放了更多的男性战斗力。

　　另一方面，妇女的参军改变了妇女的社会角色，她们的参军经历在一定程度上打破了性别障碍和美国社会传统对她们的束缚，在男性主导的军事领域证明了她们的能力，妇女的思想意识和自我认知能力得到了提高。

　　本文主要以二战时期美国陆军妇女队为研究重点，阐述陆军妇女队对战争胜利所做出的贡献，并分析其历史意义。全文包括绪论和结语，共分为六个部分。

　　Abstract

　　During World War II, women played a crucial role in America just like their malecounterparts. Faced with fighting a two-front war and the critical manpower shortage,the Army established the Women's Army Corps based on the Women's Auxiliary ArmyCorps, which was the first women's corps serving in the ranks of the United StatesArmy. The philosophy of the Women's Army Corps was that women could best supportthe war effort by performing noncombatant military jobs for which they were alreadytrained. During the wartime, over 150000 American women served in the Women'sArmy Corps, they filled the job positions that were occupied by men for a long time,which proves that women could perform “men's work”. The establishment of Women'sArmy Corps during World War II has a profound influence in American history. On theone hand, American women have made a significant contribution to the war effort; theyallowed the Army to make the most use of manpower and free men to perform essentialcombat duties. On the other hand, serving in military during World War II altered therole of women in the American society in considerable dimension. American womenbroke down the gender barriers and traditional restrictions on female employment inAmerican society by serving in the military, and demonstrated their capabilities inpreviously male-dominated military area.

　　In order to expound the contributions made by the Women's Army Corps andanalysis its influence, this paper focuses on the Women's Army Corps during World WarII. The full text contains six parts except for the introduction and conclusion.

　　The introduction points out the significance of this article, the current researchstatus, the main content and the innovative point.

　　The first chapter mainly talks about the service of women in the military fromAmerican Revolution to the World War I.

　　The second chapter introduces the establishment of the Women's Army Corps andits recruitment.

　　The third chapter mainly discusses the service of the Women's Army Corps formtwo aspects. One is about the service of the Women's Army Corps in the United StatesArmy, and the other is about their service abroad.

　　The fourth chapter argues the influence of the Women's Army Corps. Women havemade a significant contribution to war by serving in the military; their experience in themilitary during the wartime had a great effect on themselves as well as the Americansociety.

　　The conclusion mainly analyzes the significance of the women serving in themilitary in the history of the America, and points out the trend of the women'srecruitment in the military in the post war period.
